So one day Doug said how would you like two cats. I said sure, do I have a choice Now I had to build them a house, a Cat House. It is a two story house, first floor dining and second floor sleeping, with a balcony and Sun Deck. It had 3 picture windows, from the Dollar Store. Thermostatically controlled heat, indoor/outdoor thermometer remotely read from my house and in the summer convection air flow through the two chimneys.
Nadine passed away several years ago. Bogart became very lonely and became attached to me and finely worked his way into our house although he loved to spend his days outside on the Cat House Sun Deck until about 5 o'clock. My wife said at 5 he would show up and if in the house sit in the window looking down the drive or sit on the deck railing waiting for me to arrive home.
He lost his hearing a few years ago. I would stomp my foot to get his attention or shine a flash light at him and he would come. His last year his back legs gave him a lot of problems; he lost his ability to walk well and jump up to the window or on the railing outside, but he could still make it up to the Sun Deck.
He loved to watch TV, or was that me; to help him get into my lap I would raise the Lazy-Boy foot rest half way so he could climb up and curl up in my lap.
When it was time, I was holding Bogart's head as he went to sleep. I miss you old friend.
