Oscar is the orange kitty on the left. He was extremely shy and kept away from my other cats. He showed up one day when I had some cat food outside. I welcomed him into the family. He was scruffy looking, but to me he was beautiful. Oscar had a digestive problem for which I gave him daily medicine. Otherwise his tummy would cramp and he would cry out.

I went on vacation and took my dogs. I thought since he needs medicine every day, I should take Oscar too. We had an uneventful seven hour drive. When we got into the room, I put out food, water, and a litter box for him. But he had never used a litter box. Knowing he was so attached to me, and knew where I was, I let him out the door. But he never came back.

As he was going out the door he turned and gave me a wide-eyed look, not of fear, but of affection. The place I stayed is pet-friendly, and the owners helped me look for him. So did some of my friends who live there, even after I came back home.

Oscar to me represents innocent love. He was very affectionate, but kept his distance from the other cats and the dogs. I miss him so very much. I know he doesn't have tummy aches any more. He was a real gift, and my little angel. Thank you little Oscar.
