My cat, Sophie, loves da Bird with a real passion. She is crazy about chasing it around and jumping (and jumping and jumping)high up in the air to try to get the feathers. When "we" are done playing with it, I put it in a closet. However, Sophie is never really "done" with this toy and she sits outside the closet door hoping I will get it out again. She also "talks" and I really think she says "Bird." This is a very successful toy as far as Sophie is concerned and I would encourage other cat owners to try it. It is good exercise for a cat and not too much trouble for the owner - after all, how much energy does it take to hold a long stick with a string and swing it up and down?
