Ease of Use
I've had my FURminator since 2006. There are several different sizes, but I purchased the small with 1 3/4" blade for my short-haired Tabby. It was easy to work with, removed her shed hair adequately and grooming time became enjoyable.
Effect on Hairballs
I originally bought this item, because my cat was constantly spitting up hairballs and the other grooming tools weren't helping with this problem. I did notice a significant reduction in the amount of hairballs after administering this tool.
My Review
The FURminator is a great tool for grooming. It removes loose hair, helps with the elimination of hairballs, is easy to use and cats enjoy it. I purchased the small 1 3/4" model, because my cat had short hair and I was concerned that the larger blade might injure her. Others who have cats with long or dense coats may want to consider the larger blade, because the smaller one may not produce the desired results. I want to add that at the present time I now have two 9-month kittens and they love this product too. It's a win win all the way and I would definitely recommend it to others who need a good grooming tool for their cats.
