Name, Gender, and Age of Your Black Cat

Elvis is a neutered male and he is 18 months old. I found him; a tiny kitten just skin and bones with a big set of lungs! I couldn't help falling in love with him.

How I Came to Love Black Cats

As long as I can remember, I loved cats and I have had them around since childhood. I didn't have a black cat until I went to the vets and they had two cats to give away. I could only pick one. I picked the tiny, scrawny female solid black kitten! Sassafras turned out to be the most loyal, sweetest thing. She would be waiting for me when I got home from work everyday. She would patiently wait for me to wake up on days I got to sleep in. If I offended her, she would go and jump on her litter box and turn it over!

I love to see a slinky, slippery black cat in the sun. The shine is inexpressable!

How Black Cats Differ from Other Cats

I've had three and all of them were the most loyal cats of the multitude of cats that have owned me. They are quiet, gentle, and down right polite! They seem to have a way with other cats in being received and liked. Nermie, my bicolored, spayed female just took right to Elvis like he was her own from day one. He gets along with my other three kitties, too. He is that way with people, too. So was Sassafras. The big black persian I encountered at chance visit just walked right up to me! I looked down and there was those huge copper eyes gazing up and he just appreciated being petted so much. They love being appreciated and they are easy to appreciate!

Tips and Tricks

  • They became your loyal companion while they have a knack with getting along with the rest of the kitties. Elvis is my little alarm clock. Nobody sleeps past 7am DST around here! And when he wants my attention, he puts his paw on my check (keeping his claws in) and meows in an expressive sound that says "Hey, you!"
