How I Came to Love Black Cats

When our daughter was young, she brought home a baby black cat..we had him for 19 years..after he passed away--we were heart-broken....when we went to the pet store--the Homeward Bound Rescue league was there...we had no intention on adopting another--we were still very sad about loosing our first cat"Baby"---then we saw him....he was cuddled up under his mother..he was just a few weeks old

How Black Cats Differ from Other Cats

Dexter---has a personality all his own...nothing like our first back cat...he is very dominant, fearless, and thinks he runs the house...

At first we had quite a lot of problems with him being so aggressive..We ask the vet for advice..

She told us that he wasn't taught on how to play by his mother...he was just a rough neck....

Tips and Tricks

  • After a year of trying to teach him from not being aggressive..we went back to the rescue league and adopted his mother..hoping that she would keep him in line....and it worked!!! She would grab his collar (elastic) and let it go like a sling shot and snapped him...Mystic is nothing like Dexter... she is calm, loving and very gentle....We keep a water bottle around the house and when Dexter gets really bad..we just have to show him the bottle and he quiets right down.....
