How I Came to Love Black Cats
Back in April, 2007, we had a stray calico cat that was frequenting our back yard. We already had an older orange tabby. After much coaching, and with the help of our orance cat Rocky, we convince this stray to become our pet and live indoors. Little did we know that when we took her to the Vet for the first time, she was diagnosed with feline leuk. At the time we were not given any definite prognosis since the disease could manifest itself in one way or another, or she could just be a carrier. Unfortunately, in November, 2007, the disease took it's toll on our little kitty and she past away. The entire family
How Black Cats Differ from Other Cats
was broken hearted. My wife convinced me we need to get another. At the shelter door as we walked in, a black kitten reached out and grabbed my sleeve. I held her and knew at that point she was coming home. It's been three years and this cat "Munch" and I have bonded very deeply. She follows me everywhere, even when I'm shaving he sits on the toilet seat and watches me. He knows my every mood and greets me eveyday at the font door when I come home from work. In the evening he has to sit right next to me on the couch. He sleeps in our bed and when the alarm goes off at 5:00 am. He makes sure I get up with head butts and purring loudly in my ear. He is very intelligent and curious.
Tips and Tricks
- I've had several cats in my lifetime but Munch, tops them all, I've never had such a bond with any other cat. He seems to read my mind as to my mood or demeanor. He is also a very good hunter. He does not like the outside. He prefers to be an indoor cat all the time. He does like to sit and stair out the window but has no desire to venture out. He loves treats and will only let me place them on the bathroom floor so our other cats can't see them or get near them. (We have gotten another calico kitten two months ago).
- Black cats are so regal looking, very self confident and they know they are the best.
