How I Came to Love Black Cats

My first cat was a black Cailco. As soon as I was old enough to talk I begged my parents for a cat, so for my 5th birthday I got my first black kitty, Frisky. She was my everlasting companion. She always slept on my bed with me, greeted me when I got home, and begged for food more than a dog. Oddly, her favorite foods were Dunkin Donuts plain bagels -specifically dunkin donuts ones- and green olives. My weird little girl. When she passed away 15 years later, I felt a void. After a few months when I felt ready to open my heart to another cat, I opted for adoption. And of course, I had to get a black cat,my little Nal

How Black Cats Differ from Other Cats

From what I've seen, much more affectionate and clingy. Nala sleeps with me every night, follows me to the kitchen when I wake up and make breakfast, keeps me company until I leave for work, then greets me with a series of meows and leg-rubbing which is not just for food, once I feed her she'll continue greeting me before going for the food. She's my own fuzzy welcoming committee. My family loves to tell me how they can tell I'm almost home when Nala starts meowing like a crazy thing and bolting around until I step in the door.
