How I Came to Love Black Cats

I adore all cats being a life long ailurophile par excellence. I had wanted a black cat for a long time knowing that many don't get adopted because of idiotic 'stupidstitions' about them.

Finally, when I had room in my household, I went to my favorite rescue group, Maine Coon Rescue and they helped me find the black kitty of my dreams: the long-haired fluffy baby boy I named Shane Ketselah (Yiddish for handsome kitten), Shanedy for short. I love my cats big and hairy because I love grooming them daily.

Shanedy loves his human, brushings, playing, snuggling with his Maine Coon/Persian mix Tortie pal Fiona.

How Black Cats Differ from Other Cats

Shanedy is exceptionally loving and his fur is gorgeously glossy and silky and his plumy tail is awesome as are his golden eyes. He gets adorably excited at the pigeons that roost on my NYC apartment window sills and loves to play with his toys. He is very affectionate with me and his feline buddy Fiona, a dark Tortoise Shell colored Maine Coon/Persian mix also adopted from Maine Coon Rescue.

I love them dearly!

My sister also has a fabulous rescued fluffy black cat named Gatita, The Little Black Lioness! Gatita tends to mat and enjoys her lion cut which makes her look cuter than ever!
