How I Came to Love Black Cats

My grandmother bred American Curls when I was a kid, and one of them was a black cat named Star. Star was one of the friendliest and most outgoing kitties you could ever hope to meet. A lot of people were scared of her though, because she was black and her curved ears looked like devil horns. My grandma was always worried someone would hurt her just because the way she looked.

Ever since, I have had a soft spot for black cats. My first black kitty, Shadow, is my best friend and closest companion. I have had 7 other black cats since adopting Shadow, and each has had a unique, yet sweet personality.

How Black Cats Differ from Other Cats

They are sweet, loveable and funny. There's nothing cuter than a puffy round ball of black fursleepily looking up at your from your bed.

They're like velvety heating pads on a cold wintry day. And like the little black dress, they go with everything.
