Most Challenging Characteristics of the Breed

As he came to us as a stray kitten he can often be timid around strangers.

When, Where and How I Got My Cat

We adopted him or he adopted us after his mother chose our hobby farm to have her kittens. Roly mum and two siblings first appeared as tiny kittens then reappeared and disappeared for a few months til one day roly appeared all by himself with a hopeful look on his face. he was quite unafraid so after some food he had some pats, a wash then drifted off to sleep on a chair and that was that. now he sleeps indoors and is a happy spoiled boy.

I'd Describe My Cat As…

Roly was raised in the wild. Therefore, he is sometimes timid of strangers, despises even friendly dogs but is also very loyal, affectionate and cheeky. He is a rarity for a cat that could have become feral.

Advice

  • Choose practically as well as from the heart.
  • if you want a long haired cat, then are you prepared to groom it?
  • A cat can live ten years or longer so are you committed to caring for your cat permanently?
  • Unless you plan to deliberately breed from your cat, have your cat desexed
  • If they'll wear it,give them a flea collar.
  • Take good care of your cat but allow their independence.
  • Each cat is as unique as you are so will have different temperament to get used to. Enjoy life's differences.

Franny Syufy, Cats Guide, says:

I liked all the advice except the part about flea collars. Also, I'd have loved to see a photo of Roly.
