When, Where and How I Got My Cat

Not quite a year ago, my mom's friend found a lone kitten in her garage. The mother or any of the other kitties were nowhere to be found. She knew my mom often took in abandoned baby animals so she called us.

"Of course we'll take him!" My mom was quick to take her new prize to the house and show all of us.

"What kind of cat IS this?!" I'd never seen a cat like him before; he was pure white with two distinct black dots on his head. These signature black dots earned him the name 'Satan' although he still has not lived up to his name (thankfully). So: WHAT KIND OF CAT IS SATAN?

I'd Describe My Cat As…

My cat Satan is all-around easy to get along with. From the time he was a kitten, he would always sit on my shoulder or climb up my back when I was working on a project on the floor. Satan likes to keep me company and always tries to keep me happy. Originally, we agreed to take the cat because we had an ongoing problem with mice getting into the horse feed in the barn. As he got older, however, we realized that this cat wouldn't harm a fly; he is a gentle, loving creature. His breed is unknown.

Advice

  • At this point, I really have no advice to give to anybody about this cat. I don't even know what type of cat he is! I've never seen his brothers or sisters, I've never seen his mother or father; the origin of this cat a complete mystery! As far as I know, this cat could be some type of mythical creature; we'd never know it unless we did blood work (which we are too broke to do).

I've deleted several pleas to email CC Sweet to tell her what kind of cat (or breed) Satan is. She's already made a good start by figuring out that he is a domestic cat. I'd suggest she re-read my article on Cat Colors, Breeds, and Color Patterns to help clear up any remaining questions.
