When, Where and How I Got My Cat
My beautiful Russians were abandoned for many years. Where I work (industrial area) I discovered them and started feeding the Ladies. They were living on the roof of a container. I think they are sisters as they look similar. I gained their trust by feeding them for 6 months and now they have been at home with me for 2 1/2 months. They are so precious and now share a home with my little Red Point, Gyatso. He was not too happy but now seems to have realised that the Russian Ladies are part of the family.
I'd Describe My Cat As…
The Russian ladies, Shanti and Tara are exquisite. Their fur is like velvet to the touch. Shanti, who is more approachable is like a clinging child and demands a lot of love. Tara is a little skittish still and looks out those beautiful eyes and conveys all messages she can give. They are exceptionally close to one another and need a lot of love and attention.
Advice
- When adopting abandoned cats, always remember to understand that they do not like loud noise, need time to adapt to their new environment. Patience is the optimum word. One needs to comprehend exactly what they are going through. Always be supportive. Make sure that they are comfortable at all times. Catnip is wonderful for breaking the ice. Love and attention is everything to rescued and abandoned cats as they need to gain their trust once again in us humans. Once this is established, unconditional love will pour from your thankful friends.
