Best Characteristics of the Tortoiseshell
Sophie is not your average tortie. She is very, very talkative (sometimes I can't shut her up) and very, very playful (part of her 'conversation' consists of telling me to get out the "DaBird" so we can PLAY, PLAY, PLAY.

When, Where and How I Got My Tortie
I got Sophie at my local Humane Society. I saw her picture on Petfinder and could not resist those big green eyes! She is about 5 years old and I have had her since June 2010.
I'd Describe My Cat As…
a bit hard to get to know, but now she has settled in quite well. She can be very standoffish at times and does not really like to be in my lap or groomed. Her fur is long but does not knot up and she grooms herself quite well. She is growing more affectionate as time goes by, but I doubt I will ever be able to get her into her cat carrier for a trip to the vet without tranquilizing her first.
- Torties are lovely cats that are reputed to be fairly quiet and docile, but my Sophie is one of a kind and refutes most of the cat knowledge I have acquired over years of being a cat owner.
