I'd Describe My Cat As…
Our Vicki is a very sweet, loveable Maine coon cat. She loves attention and follows us around the house just to see what we are doing. At night she curls herself up on top of my head in bed sucks the fur on her tummy and purrs. It is such a comforting feeling. Also if she wants attention in the middle of the night she "combs" my hair on the back of my head, If I don't turn around and pet her, she does it again with her claws out a bit. She also likes to bunt my nose or paw my mouth. Vicki is the only cat I have seen pick dry food out of her bowl, drop it on the floor and eat from the mat on the floor. She is also left pawed. We also have a calico short haired cat and they get along well together, but Vicki is top kitty and makes sure our Cleo is aware of this. They do play chase each other and whenever Vicki is up to no good she goes around looking for Cleo so she can tease her. We have tons of toys for our cats, but Vicki loves to shoot bits of dry food around, like she is playing hockey. She is very dexterous with her front paws, even opening cupboard doors.
Vicki can also be a fraidy cat, being scared of thunderstorms and sudden loud noises. She is highly sensitive and seems to be quite emotional, wanting a lot of attention and love and we always give love and attention to both Vicki and Cleo, sometimes petting them together. We have a closed in deck that both cats love to sit on, Vicki being up on the railing surveying her kittydom.
Vicki is the first Maine Coon cat we have owned and would not hesitate to get another one, but only if Vicki passes away, which will not be for a while yet. She is still young and lively. Seems to have the personality of a young cat, but of course Maine Coons mature slower than other cats. Another cat is out of the question right. Vicki would be so hurt. Cleo is just enough company for her right now.
Our Vicki is a sweet, loveable and intelligent Maine Coon. Love her quiet trilly meow that can sometimes get a little bit louder if she is waiting for her nightly treat and "Daddy" is not moving fast enough t for her when he opening the can of cat food. So glad we adopted her. She is a joy to have around.
Advice
- Maine Coons need lots of attention and toys to keep them happy and not bored.
