When, Where and How I Got My Tuxedo
Adopted Buddy from Spokanimal when he was a few months old. My ex-wife and I joke "He picked us".....which he did.....One walk by his cage and he bellowed out a meow and curled his paw around my hand as I went to pet him. The rest is history. I kept him thru the divorce. His company kept me sane. My girlfriend wasn't sure of him when we started dating. He was stand-offish and ignored her, which she wasn't used to,being a dog person. "What's that cat good for" she used to ask me. Four years into our relationship She has come to learn and Love our "Captain" of the house. Buddy has accepted her after she accepted him.
I'd Describe My Cat As…
Once he is comfy with a human he is very loving and a great friend. Stated earlier my girlfriend had no use for him because he always was so stand-offish with her. He sensed her uncomfortableness with him,as I did. Give it time I told her. Many times. And talk to him. Even when he ignores you, he's "listening". Debbie, your dogs are loving and accepting....not the way Buddy is...he's a Cat....and his own man...if you show patience and love he will come your way...many times we had talks about Bud's "elusiveness"......Bout a year after we started dating she was over at my place preparing a surprise b-day dinner. As she tells me....the dinner was in the oven....I was tired in need of a nap.....so I layed on the couch......bundled up in your camping sleeping bag...and I had been talking to Buddy off and on as I made dinner....He was watching me from a distance as he usually did and acting like i didn't matter. I fell asleep.....when I woke up here he was bundled up in a circle against my tummy laying against me. He's ok with me Deb said. During dinner later in the evening Debbie realized how diff Dogs and Cats are....since she had never had a Cat. Debbie now has 2 beautiful black female kitties, fixed, adopted from Spokanimal,to go along with her two Lab girls......She told me in a quiet moment recently...."Buddy really is a gem"...and..."My dogs are easier to deal with" since I adopted the two kittens.Case closed.
