When, Where and How I Got My Tuxedo
June 2009, Deming, New Mexico, from my boss. His cat had orphaned a litter of kittens and he let me pick one. Pender picked me!
He was four months old at the time.
I'd Describe My Cat As…
Even temperament. Trusting and loyal. Likes to have close contact with me.
Was easy to train to walk in a harness on a leash.
No medical problems so far, although he has a mild dust allergy.
Pender is an indoor cat who enjoys occasional outdoor walks on his leash. He is very interested in the wild quail and lizards that live around our house.
He is always happy to see me come home from work. He sleeps with me whenever I go to bed, and is usually right next to me at other times. He is good with other animals and people.
I am living away from home (have two other cats at home) on a long-term job assignment. It would be very lonely without him.
Advice
- Tuxedos are generally large cats. They exhibit high intelligence.
- Be sure you can give them the one-on-one attention they need.
