When, Where and How I Got My Tuxedo

She went back & forth between the house across the street from me & the house where she was born several times in her first few weeks of life. One day the 5 year old from across the street came over carrying the tiny kitten asking if I would take her because they couldn't afford her. Peaches was 9 weeks old. I took her & have had her ever since. Peaches would NOT accept being separated from my other pets & bolted out of her safe room every possible chance she got. Eventually, I just gave up. My other two cats were about 2 years old & were not thrilled about the kitten but they accepted her very quickly.

I'd Describe My Cat As…

very adaptable, social and calm.

In 2004 Peaches had a very bad UTI that did not respond to meds and we were moving to NY. By the time we got here - both her bladder and both kidneys had been compromised. It took over 6 months of various medications to cure her. She is completely healed now except for the fact that one kidney is scarred.

Advice

  • I have Peaches (grey and white) and Onyx (black and white) - both tuxedos, both very talkative and assertive. You really need to have patience with them sometimes because the meowing can get on your nerves a bit if you are pre-occupied and they want your attention.
