Angel Going Home!

What led me to adopting a shelter cat

In 2008 my 17 year old cat died and I was heartbroken because my dog of 16 years had died two months earlier. I was not looking to get another cat because I did not feel as if my heart was whole. So we went basically catless for six months. Later that year we were passing by the cat adoption center at Petsmart. My mom mentioned that my dad was considering taking me to an adoption drive held by a local radio station. So I asked her if she was serious and she said yes.

How many visits did you make before adopting?

We then went to the local shelter to just see what there was. I was looking at all the cages and saw many beautiful cats but did not see a cat for me. Then I went to one of the rooms filled with kitties and fell in love with a little two month old kitten who was named Greenhaven5. I was head over heels and had to have her. I decided right then that we had to adopt her but it was too late in the day. We had to get up the next morning to officially adopt her which we did. I could not take her home for a couple of days because she had to be fixed. I went back the next couple of days just to see her and got many comments saying they wish they could adopt her. I then named her Angel. After three days I picked her up from the vet and I took her to her forever home with me. She is my little Angel.

The Mutual Bond I Share With my Cat

She was a sick little kitty when she came home. She had an upper respritory infection so I had to feed her medicine and keep a close eye on her. When I watched her I noticed little things that made me fall in love with her even more.
