What led me to adopting a shelter cat
Karma was abandoned as a 'teen mom' she had kittens in the shelter, but they were long gone when I met the sweetest and shyest kitty.
We have been together for over 10 years now and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
How many visits did you make before adopting?
When I looked at all the cages, as a first time pet owner, I was a little scared at the prospect of learning to be a 'mom' for the first time.
In truth, this little shy cat picked me I didn't pick her. She came close to the cage door took out a paw and gentle tapped my index finger as if to say: "hey there...I'm as scared as you."
Advice
- I don't know if I can give advice as it was the first time going to the shelter or own an animal, but I would have to say go with your heart.
My Cat's Name and Age at Adoption
When she greets me when I arrive home we have a little chat and pet before dinner. If she is hungry for breakfast and I want to sleep in she gently taps my nose.
The Mutual Bond I Share With my Cat
We love to cuddle on the bed and she sleeps in my lap purring while I read a book.
