Whitehead and his Pompom

Cat's Name, Gender, and Age

"White Head", male, 4 months old

Was Photo Staged or Caught in the Act?

Aside from me throwing the pompom in his face, the picture was caught in the act.

A Little Background on my Cat

I rescued "White Head" along with his 3 siblings, from a man who couldn't take care of them and was going to kill them. The names are temporary since they are to be given away to new homes. I have been fostering them for nearly 3 months. White Head has already gone to a wonderful home, but I miss his crazy personality! This picture shows it!

What Were the Circumstances of the Photo?

I was throwing the red pompom around and trying to get the best shot. They were certainly not cooperating! So 100 blurry shots later, I got this one which happened so fast I honestly didn't see his tongue until I looked at the picture! Somehow I managed to click at the right billionth of a second!

Tips and Tricks

  • My most fundamental tip for anyone wanting to get a great shot is to take hundreds if not thousands of pictures until you get the right one! The more you take, the more chances you have of landing the right one! And nowadays with digital cameras, there's no need to hold back!
  • Don't let the quality of your camera get you down! I only have a small L200 camera and I have taken some fantastic pictures. The way I see it, a good photographer can use even the cheapest of cameras and still make masterpieces.
