How I Came About to Adopt This Cat
I did not think I was ready to adopt a cat after having lost my Subie to osteosarcoma. Yet for some reason I checked out Petfinder and when I saw Sierra, I fell in love.
Sierra was a 6 month old Siamese who would soon become a tripod because some horrible person had tossed her from a vehicle and her leg was broken beyond repair. Subie was a tripod too.
A few days after I signed the adoption papers, Sierra had her right rear leg amputated. She was up and purring within a few hours after surgery. The next day she was trekking around the shelter. She came home a few days after her amputation.
Why I Think my Cat Deserves This Title
Sierra is loving, funny and most of all memorable. She only has three legs so she is visually memorable but mostly you remember her huge personality. Her favorite past time is to chatter at birds. She yowls loudly while holding her stuffed toy in her mouth. At other times, her meows sound like a duck (mwak, mwak) and you just have to laugh.
She nibbles on your ankles if you don't feed her fast enough and she expects "take out". She wants her food on the floor not on a plate. She expects you to play laser tag every morning.
Sierra has a strong personality and makes me laugh and smile much of the time and what could be better than that?
