When, Where and How I Got My Polydactyl Cat
I fell in love with Casey when I first met her. I was outside of a animal rescue and this woman had several kittens in a cage. She was waiting for the doors to open and was going to show the kitties that day. The kitties were not ready to go home yet, but they were trying to get them homes to go to when they were old enough. I immediately told them to put me down for Casey. She is an absolutely beautiful brown tiger kitty and she has a wonderful personality as well.
I'd Describe My Cat As…
Casey has an extra claw on both front feet. She looks like she is wearing boxer gloves. Between her "thumb" and the rest of her paw there is an extra claw that needs to be cut on both paws. Sometimes this can be hard to get at, but it is not impossible and she is such a good kitty. When she was younger a vet told me that I might have to have her extra nails removed, but she has not had any problems with them. I cut all the cats' nails every month so there is no fear of having problems.
Casey is a wonderful kitty with a great personality. She is friendly and sweet, caring and loving. She is very special to me...
Advice
- The only advice is to monitor their extra toes to make sure there are no problems and if there are extra toe nails to not forgot to cut them too...
