Your Cat(s)' name, age, and gender

Cleo will be 3 in January and Maise 2 in November, they are both girls.

Is one cat the matriarch or patriarch? Describe how.

Both cats are now on equal terms, Cleo used to be the boss but she has lately just been more cuddly and friendly with Maise and they both now more willing to share things like beds and food bowls.

How I Became Part of a Cat Family

I never had cats as a child, but I always wanted to, so as a soon as I got the chance and moved out of home I had cats in my life.

My Cat Family Members

I moved into a cat household with my boyfriend and he had a cat that he'd grown up with his cat was 1 year older than him, I saw the bond they both had, and when his kitty sister passed away at 23 I suggested that we go and save a life and go to the local shelter 'to just have a look'. Well long story short Cleo chose my boyfriend by running up his arm and onto his shoulder and he said that we have to have her as part of our family! In getting our second cat Maise, we had moved out of a house with Cleo and she was missing her doggy friend, so we again went to a shelter and got her a little sister and best friend. Both cats are our kitty-kids & are treated as family members.

Tips and Tricks

  • Two cats are better than one.
  • Cats are very keen on picking up on social cues, that if you cuddle one expect to cuddle the other!
  • Acknowledging when a cat enters a room or in passing by saying her/his name, can do wonders for your bonding, they acknowledge your presence and cats like people don't like to be ignored.
  • Cats are honest, unlike dogs they are not submissive and won't put up being treated badly, the flip side if you treat them well and love them, the loyalty and love from a kitty surprises me everyday.
  • People who think cats are only after food and shelter from people are just ignorant.
