Most Rewarding Aspects of Fostering

The love that makes your heart hurt!! =)

Saddest Aspects of Fostering

I lost my 3 angels a few days ago.. They were only 7 days old.. That is such a horrible helpless feeling..

Temptation to Keep Cats and/or Kittens

I didn't get that far with my angels

How I became a foster parent to cats and/or kittens

I volunteer at a local shelter. I've been helping the vet crew out for the last 8 months or so. I always wanted to foster so when these babies came in at 4 days old, they were offered to me. =) They weren't strong enough to survive so my time with them was so short but I love them as though they were my own. Cody, Owen and Khiana became my sun and moon for those days!

How I learned to care for my foster cats & kittens

I have had cats and am a cat lady so I know a lot about them. This was my first experience with itty bitties and it was bittersweet. I did some online research but I also had/have the support and experience of a veteran vet tech and another volunteer. I wouldn't have been able to get through without them!

Lessons learned

  • I learned that sometimes babies die and there is nothing I can do to stop it.
  • Next time I will learn the feeding technique from the tech to make meals go smoothly.
  • There will be a next time =)

What a sad experience, but I'm glad Mom of Angels is determined to continue fostering.
