Challenges of Life With an Older Cat
When we got Norman i knew he was special i knew my life would change. About a week after we brought him home we noticed bad breath and when he meowed nothing came out. We then took him to the vet he said that he had a gum disease called stomatitis. Five years later he is doing better.
When, Where and How I Got My Cat
Norman came from the SPCA. He was 7 years old then.

Kind, lovable, and sweet snuggly cat. He loves anyone that will love him. If you sit in this house you'd better make sure there is enough room for him; if not he will make room. He has stomatitis, a gum disease that we struggled with for 5 years. We finally have found a vet that specializes in dentistry for cats. There is no cure for this disease but he could go into remission. Two months later he is doing very good he has got his voice back and feeling better than ever. I owe this vet everything because we had given up hope for his mouth.
Advice
- love them bring them home. Even with all our challenges with norman's mouth I don't regret it for one minute. He has brought me comfort when I needed it the most; my mom died and two months later my cat Dixie died from kidney disease. I was in a bad place and Norman was the angel that was sent to comfort me.
