Tribute To
Baum
Quirky Little Habits of my Cat
Baum loved to cuddle up in the sun and in warm laundry. He also liked to jump up into his owners' arms, and sometimes into the arms of unsuspecting guests. He always wagged his tail and snuggled up between his owners every night for bed.
What my Cat Loved and Hated Most
He loved warm clothes just out of the dryer, as well as dark little nooks like behind the vacuum in the closet, in cupboards, and even the freezer! He also loved his brother, who always cleaned him when he was sick and watched over him.
How this cat became my companion
Baum and his brother were given to me as a birthday present, and they were both bought from a pet store.
How my cat enriched my life
Baum made us so happy every day by cuddling in our arms as we read or watched TV, waiting by the door every day for us to get home, and sitting by the shower while I got ready in the morning. We were always so excited to come home to see Baum and his brother, and they always ran right over to the door if they weren't already there. Often, if I was in a room and shut the door, Baum would jump up and try to open the door to get in there. He always made me feel so special and loved.
Lessons learned
- Baum died after only 10 months, but he taught us that you have to be happy and enjoy the time you have.
- If we ever argued or raised our voices with each other, he would get up and leave as a way of showing us that he disapproved and that we should be nicer to each other.
- I admire that no matter how sick Baum was feeling, he always seemed to keep on going and tried to be near us because he knew how happy he made us and how much we love him.
