What I'll Miss Most About my Cat
I will miss her sleeping beside me at night and sitting on the little stool to beg for a piece of cheese... I will miss everything about my dear sweet Sassy... rest in peace sweet one. You will always be with me ... until we meet again.
How this cat became my companion
I inherited Sassy from my ex-husband when she was about six months old - we have been together for over seventeen years - until 1:10 p.m. this afternoon.
How my cat enriched my life
Sassy enriched my life so much - taught me what true unconditional love is ... she was the best listener, the shoulder to cry on, the friend to laugh with ... in her senior years she became the most affectionate and cuddly cat ... she followed me around seemed to really miss me when I would leave.
She was my friend and a part of my family. I miss her terribly.
Lessons learned
- That real love is unconditional. She didn't care if I was grumpy, of if I was having a bad hair day, or if I had money or didn't have money ... she just wanted to be with me ... simple, pure, love.
- In our last few moments together she also showed me strength and courage and acceptance ... she knew (I am very sure) what was about to happen and she just relaxed and let go ... I was holding her and stroking her head when she breathed her last breath. She left this world knowing that I love her. She trusted me ... she didn't struggle ... she was ready ... I wish I was half as strong
