Tribute To
Shadow
Quirky Little Habits of my Cat
Walking in circles howling at nothing
What my Cat Loved and Hated Most
Shadow didn't like most other cats...but he was a very loving older boy and a cherished friend
What I'll Miss Most About my Cat
Shadow's owner was Linda, my neighbor, but Shadow came to see me almost every day for food and to hang out. He would watch me in the garden, washing the car. Gory would sleep in the chair on the back porch. He was a very social cat towards humans and loved at times being petted and brushed
How this cat became my companion
Thru several years of talking to him and feeding him. Linda took very good care of him. He was my friend and I looked for him every a.m. when I got up. Sometimes crabby, sometimes loving...he didn't fit in well with the other kitties but he did tolerate my older boy kitty, Buddy. They just kind of ignored each other. Linda adopted him because his original owner could not take proper care of him. Linda is a most wonderful human being and a great cat person.
How my cat enriched my life
He gave me something to look forward to every morning. Shadow would a lot of times be sitting or laying in the chair on the back porch, and as soon as he heard noise in the house would be howling to get fed. I could tell half way up the stairs if he was around or not. Not a mean or sad kitty cry but one of expecting his Iams and a fresh bowl of water every morning. He and my cat Buddy would chirp and cackle at one another from the upstairs bedroom window. I know you all have heard this a million times. But that cat Shadow was the most special animal/friend I have ever known. What a great Cat. Rest in peace Big Kitty Shadow, I love you and will miss you every day big fella.
Lessons learned
- Even when he was crabby or fussy he still let you know he appreciated being fed and watered, especially in the hot weather. He would park his long and lean body under the truck in the shade and just wait for ice-cubed water in the dish to come and drink. And drink he did just that.
