Kat Chaplin believes that we can no longer afford the luxury of educating people to the value of spay and neuter for our pets - we simply don't have the time. She reasons that smokers are now in the minority because of a huge advertising campaign, and that the same thing could be accomplished for endangered cats and dogs, by mass-marketing.
Unlike many of the anti-smoking campaigns, Kat uses humor to further her message. “I use humor because it works. When we don’t take ourselves quite so seriously, people are much more inclined to listen, hear and remember,” Chaplin tells a writer for the ASPCA Animal Watch. Kat Chaplin has also been honored for her promotion of the spay-neuter message by Cat Fancy Magazine, PETrogliphs by Nancy Marano and in a monthly print publication of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
