Celebrate ~^..^~ Claws!

The Best Friends Animal Society has a new beta Best Friends Network, where website members can freely post their opinions about various matters related to animals. One of the newest features is their Celebrate ~^..^~ Claws!, which consists of 15 articles and stories about cats' claws, why they need them, how they use them, and the perils inherent in declawing.
The second article in this series is an interview with Gary Loewenthal, whom I met several years ago when he got his first cat, Mike. Gary has grown since then from a cat "newbie" to an avid advocate for cats and other animals that share our planet. He is a prolific writer, whose passion for speaking out for animals glows in every word he writes. His article, "Why Cats Need Claws," first featured in the Whole Cat Journal, is an outstanding and compelling case for keeping cats' claws intact. I am very pleased with my small part in helping Gary learn first-hand about the magnificent creatures we admire and love.
