Just Kittens Picture Gallery

Friday April 25, 2008
Many of my forum members have adopted older cats, a practice I heartily recommend. However, some of them have expressed the wish that they had photos of their cats as kittens. They're have a little fun experimenting on that project now. Everybody loves kittens, and kitten lovers particularly enjoy looking at pictures of kittens.

It occurred to me that my kittens picture gallery hasn't been updated for awhile, and perhaps one or more of my readers might have kittens that match those adult cats. It could be a win-win situation. You might also get a preview of what your kitten will look like all grown up. Once I have accumulated enough "matches," I'll turn it into a new "Kitten to Adult" photo gallery. In the meantime, your photo will also be added to my Just Kittens Picture Gallery.

Here's one to start with: Coco Bear, pictured above, was adopted by HOSTPat as an adult cat, and would love to see what she might have looked like as a kitten. Another list of adult cats has been started, so maybe you have a kitten photo that matches one. While you're looking, consider taking the time to join the forum. It's one of the most supportive, active, and entertaining cats forums on the Internet.

Please follow the Photo Submittal Guidelines, and include "Kitten Picture" as your email subject. All kitten photos are welcome, but if yours is a match for Coco or one of the other cats in the forum discussion, please include "Match of Coco (or other cat name) in your email. Let's have some fun with this!

Hi, well I don’t know how else to contact you, but, my cat just had kittens yesterdat (4/28/08) and my son touched the kittens today. Could this make the mother rejsct the kittens?

Maria, let your instincts be your guide. I think it is unlikely that she would reject the kittens after one touch, but I’d advise cautioning your son from handling them until they are viable kittens (up and running around.)

I also strongly suggest that you get your cat spayed as soon as the kittens are weaned, and in the meantime, keep her indoors and away from whole (unneutered) male cats. Please read this article for more information
