Bernadette Kamarski combines her extraordinary art with her dedication to helping cats in a blog that is not only packed full of beautiful artwork, but also makes for fascinating reading. You'll find sculpture and photos of her own cats, along with line drawing and sketches. I spent considerable time marveling over a minimalistic sculpture of her beloved cat Kublai, now long gone. It is photographed at almost every angle, but there is no doubt that it is a cat. Bernadette writes an objective critique of all the things she would change, were she to create it again, but in my opinion, she was too harsh on herself. It is beautiful, just as it is.
You'll also read pleas for cats who desperately need new homes, as well as a photo of cat "leggings" which Bernadette crochets for cats born with deformed legs. These leggings help prevent sores from chafing as the cats have to drag their leg when they walk. Bernadette has a heart as big as her talent, as you will discover more and more as you browse through her links. There are also a couple of humorous pieces about certain feline conspiracies, one of which I'm sure my "calitort," Jennifur, is involved in.
You owe it to yourself to spend some time perusing The Creative Cat blog. You'll chuckle, perhaps shed a tear, but I guarantee, you'll never be bored.
