July Cats Photo Calendar
Page 1 - Calico Cats for 2003

Calico cats represent the brilliant rainbow of colors in a sunny July day. Of all cat color patterns, Calicos are perhaps the loveliest with their tri-colored exuberance. Although most Calicos are females because of genetics, the rare male does sometimes pop up, as you will see in this album. With this page, we're converting back to the "thumbnail" format for reader convenience. You can click on the small images to view full-sized photos of July Calico cats for 2003.

Daisy

"Light colored one is Daisy - 7 years old. My shy, demure little girl - she loves my other two cats. (Brother Andrew is featured among the May Tuxedo kitties.)" -- Totowiz

Eve

"This is Eve, the queen of the house. She is 9 years old and is a tortoiseshell. I call her Kitty, and my boyfriend calls her Duck. But no one calls her by her real name, Eve. She's also a Super Squirmy Kitty; she squirms and does belly flops when we walk in the door at the end of the day. This is a picture of Kitty in her Kitty Bed I got her for Christmas. We love her!" -- Farzie

Jessie and Pippa

"As you can see, these two sisters, Jessie and Pippa (Pippa has the white face) are about as calico as they get! They are Irish calicos, rescued by the nice cat rescue lady from a farm in County Sligo in the west of Ireland (the area much beloved of the great Irish poet WB Yeats). When they arrived at my home in Dublin, they were tiny and scruffy although they were perhaps 9 months old already. They cleaned up nicely with some good food and TLC and now spend their time chasing each other, sitting on sunny window ledges, and asking to drink from the bathroom tap. Pippa (white face) is a bit ditzy and loves to sit in the sink, while Jessie is sharp as can be and likes to play chase with humans or cats. They talk all the time and are especially pleased when they catch a nice fat fly for a snack. "

Angel

" "Her name is Angel. I really don't have much to say about Angel. About two years ago - my kids found her in the park close to our house and they took her home. She's truly an angel in her own ways. We love her dearly. "
  -- Rosie Crisostomo
Cali

"Cali is Angel's 'Sister.' She's a long-hair and she's just as sweet as Angel and we got her from the animal shelter. Cali is in her favorite spot - rubbing her face on something. "

Spooky

"This is a photo of my very special number one cat "Spooky". She is a 10 year old rescue cat who shares a cottage with 2 owls, 2 fish and 3 other cats but still rules the roost." "
  -- Jennifer

(Franny's note: Spooky was a 2002 Calico kitty. I'm including her here because her file was "re-written" with the new thumbnail format.)
