Guide Review - Pet-Temp Instant Ear Thermometer

The Pet-Temp measures infrared heat waves from the eardrum region, and provides an accurate reading of the cat's body core temperature in one second.

Knowledge of your cat's normal temperature is important for quickly spotting when something is wrong, e.g., impending heat stroke, suspected illness, or convalescence from surgery or illness.

The unit requires a bit of practice to become proficient. The first task is to locate the cat's tragus in front of the ear canal, because proper insertion of the probe is critical to its accuracy. The instructions are easy to follow, and the manufacturer's site provides a helpful video.

Best of all, the cats tolerated the procedure readily, and I didn't have to worry about breaking a thermometer.
