Madison and Pepper are not siblings but were raised in the same foster home before I adopted them. Pepper, the dilute calico, was rescued at 4 weeks of age from a group of children who were trying to set her tail on fire! Madison, an adorable tuxedo kitty who was hand-raised from the age of one week, is 12 days older. I initially intended to adopt only Pepper but decided that two kittens would be better than one, in case my two adult furbabies would not play with the little one. Thank goodness I made that choice - the two little girls are so much fun and I cannot imagine life without them. At one year old now, Peppy is huge and a smoosher, while Maddy is a little peanut and an independent soul, just the opposite of the way I thought they would turn out!

Cats Pictures of the Week are selected from general photo submittals. (I do not accept photos submitted specifically for "Cat Picture of the Week.") Madison and Pepper's picture was submitted as a general photo submittal, and will later be added to the Two Kittens gallery. Pepper provides a "two for the money" cachet for a May (tuxedo) photo of the week.

You may send your own photo, using the guidelines on the Photo Submittal page. Be sure to write a paragraph or so about the cat, at least two or three sentences. Our galleries have space for 2500 characters, including spaces, so don't be afraid to tell us about your cat within those parameters.

Remember that not only the quality of the picture, but the care you take in describing your cat may make the difference in its being chosen as Cat of the Week!
