![]() Smokey Smokey is 7 years young and as frisky as a kitten. I believe he still thinks he's a kitten. His favorite pasttime (besides eating and sleeping) is chasing his brother Goldie or his sister Robin around the house. They love it! And man can he move! (especially for a big guy) Several times a day he wrestles with his 7.5 lb brother Goldie. Smokey currently weighs about 20 lbs. He has lost a couple of lbs.(he was up to 22 lbs.) since we went on a diet. I say "we" because I have to supervise all meals or Smokey will also eat some of Goldie's and Robin's food as well! Our goal is 15 lbs-it's going kind of slow but at least he's losing! I am always amazed at his size (he has a huge bone structure!) because when I adopted him he was only 14 oz at 7 weeks. Smokey loves to wrestle with his brother Goldie-it is really quite a sight. Goldie likes to nip Smokey on his rear! You should see Smokey react! He doesn't like it and they go at it! Even though Smokey is 3 times bigger than Goldie, Goldie often wins! He's wirey and has got some great techniques! I take my cats in the backyard for supervised outdoor visits about once a day. As soon as Smokey gets his fill of grass he runs like the wind! He likes me to chase him but I can't keep up. He is as fast as lightning-We have a very small yard, so Smokey just keeps running back and forth! When Smokey was about a year old (we had 4 cats then) he snuck out the front door and we didn't know it. During the night I kept hearing what sounded like a branch brushing up against the screen on our bedroom window. I thought nothing of it. The next morning we finally noticed that Smokey was not in the house. I was frantic-I went out the front door to search for him. There he was sitting on the porch waiting to get back inside. At that moment I knew that it was Smokey jumping up to our window trying to get back inside! After that frightening experience I now count heads anytime I leave the house. Smokey has brought such joy to our home-he is sweet, good natured and a real teddy bear! In fact most of my friends and family think he looks like a baby teddy bear!
