Can I submit cat photos by "snail mail?"

By Franny Syufy, About.com

Question: Can I submit cat photos by "snail mail?"
I was wondering if I could snail-mail a photo with required info. I use public computers (as I don't have one at home), and do not have the equipment or knowledge to e-mail photos, etc. Alternatively, can I send you my photo from my cell phone?
Answer:

Oh, I wish you could, but I can't accept snail-mail submittals for a number of reasons. I rarely even use a scanner for my own old photos, because the quality is not as good as digital photos. And I need to have all the required information in the Photo Submittal Guidelines, including the attached photo together in my email folder, for legal reasons. For the very same reasons, I can't use cat pictures submitted by cell phone. Although technology is advancing rapidly, many of the older cell phones simply don't take high enough quality photos.

If you don't have a digital camera, most photo processing places will put your photos on a disc for a small additional charge. And there are instructions on our Email Guide's site on how to send attachments with most common email clients.
