For the photo, they wanted Betsy at the computer updating her profile but she was having none of it. She was purring and not stressed at all but just refused to pose. At one point she lashed out at the photographer which was unfortunate as this made it into the article, but she does this sometimes.
It is not her being nasty, but we think because she has been starved of attention for so long, when she gets lots of cuddles and grooming she gets over stimulated and all of a sudden will swipe. It is never intended to hurt but it can startle people if they are not used to it. For this reason we can't re-home her anywhere that has children. When she wants attention she will come to you but generally spends most of her time sleeping on her shelf.
