Skitter, Possible American Bobtail

:

From oneta hill

Skitter he is about one year old

He is very loyal to me and does not really like anyone else he looks wild

He is afraid of people and lots of things

What I Did:

I am really not sure if he is an American Bobtail. My daughter's friend was camping up in the mountains last year on the 4th of July, about 10 miles off a logging road in the pacific northwest and she kept hearing this noise. They were there for 4 days and saw him but never saw a mother or any other cats. She could not just leave him there so she trapped him with some food and brought him to me. His tail is shaped like a Z but half the length of a regular cat and it is all puffy. His back end is higher than his front end and he has really thick hair. It is not long but not short.

How I Did It:

My cat is afraid of everything. He does not really like anyone but me. He is very affectionate to me and I just love him to death. He was very easy to litter box train and now he is house broke and will not use the litter box. When I get home at night if I don't feed him first (Expensive chopped up lunch meat) he flings dry cat food out of the dish at me. He tells me when it is time to go to bed by running back and forth to my bed every night. He has no medical problems that I know of. He will jump off the second story balcony if he gets scared and has limped before. He rolls around at my feet and sleeps with me. He likes to play with strings and balls.

Lessons Learned:

  • Be sure that your cat is healthy. Keep up regular vet care.
  • I bathe my cat once a month before I put flea drops on him and brush him regularly.
  • Spend as much time as you can with them. Make them your own.
  • Actually, cats decide who is their human.

Franny Syufy, Cats Guide, says:

Lacking a photo, and especially lacking registration papers, Skitter can only legally be called an American Bobtail mix. However, I am confident that oneta doesn't love him any the less. She certainly takes excellent care of him.
