Don't you think she is so cute?

Cat's Name & Age:

Tigger 9 years old

Best Characteristics of the Tabby

She is very smart, and listens very well. She is an inside outside cat. We tell her she can't go out late at night and she understands and goes back to the living room.

Most Challenging Characteristics of the Tabby

There wasn't any challenging characteristics with Tigger, she has always been very easy to manage. She is just a good cat.

When, Where and How I Got My Tabby

Someone dropped her off, my husband got my son to feed her and it just went from there. She was about 6 months old at the time. She is very healthy and only weighs about 7 lbs. She is super cute.

I'd Describe My Cat As…

I'd describe my cat as very intelligent and understanding. She knows no means no and doesn't try to cross the line. She is very smart. If she wants outside and I don't see her at the door, she lets me know with a big meow. She is very mild mannered. We love her.

She wasn't hard to train, we used a water spray bottle to let her know she wasn't allowed on the table or counters, now you just show her the bottle and she knows what it means, we haven't had to use it in years, but she still remembers what it is for. Her health is good. She had five kittens before she was spayed. We gave four of them away. We kept one male cat that went missing when he was four years old. We miss him a lot, he was very smart, but a little too brave. We searched for him for over a week, we live near a creek and the river, we think he either got caught by a fisher or someone picked him up, he loved to go in the vehicle with you. Tigger went through the grief period when he went missing, she wouldn't go outside and when she did, she didn't go very far. Before she would be gone for the whole day hunting. She is a very good hunter, she comes home with a mouse almost everyday in the summer. It's been almost 3 years since Roscoe went missing, she is better now.

Roscoe was a great cat too, my son could take him on the three wheeler with him and Roscoe just loved it. The noise of the bike didn't bother him, he felt safe with my son. You don't see that everyday. I will get back to Tigger, she is the calmest cat that I ever seen. Before she came along, I never wanted cats, but she won our hearts, my husband just adores her, I don't know what he would do if she went missing, I know we would probably never find one the same as her. She loves her toys and is very easy to take care of. She doesn't use her litter box in the summer, she will go outside. She also protects her territory. We have neighbors that have a cat that comes over sometime, but Tigger put a stop to that, she chased the cat back to her place last year, and this other cat is twice the size of Tigger, but Tigger wasn't afraid of her. The other cat doesn't come around anymore. Another thing about Tigger is she doesn't like dogs, she was almost mauled by one, and went missing for about four hours one day, he scared the life out of her. Anytime she hears a bark or sees a dog she wants in the house. She will never forget that incident.

When she wants outside, she will bug you until you get up, especially in the summer. That's Tigger.

Advice

  • Have patience and talk to them a lot, they also love to be combed and petted. That is my husband's and son's job, if I do it she will never leave me do anything. As soon as she hears them come home she knows it is time for some petting, and makes sure she gets it.
