What led me to adopting a shelter cat
My cat smokey our mouser died. We live where there are a lot of mice so we decided we needed an older cat one of age it could mouse. I had a mouse come out and look at me 2 days after smoke died like it was taunting me. As if to say "haha I know you don't have any cats now." So I decided that's it. Its time to go get another cat.
How many visits did you make before adopting?
I got static on my first visit she just demanded I take her home. She just kept meowing at me and swatting at me. Most insistent cat I have ever had. If I would pick up another cat she would swat and meow at me as too say "what do you think you are doing I am yours, not that cat."
Advice
- I have had 3 rescue cats one off of the side of the highway, one that we were asked to take so she wouldn't get run over and this one. All of which have been awesome cats couldn't ask for better. The advantage to getting one from a shelter is they are vet checked for diseases and treated. They get their shots and fixed so you never have to worry about kittens or them getting out to be with female cats in heat. And by taking an older cat you don't have to go through the kitten stage which I don't like. You not only save their life but another cat who takes their place and all them would have been kittens in the future.
My Cat's Name and Age at Adoption
She is clingy like static cling and very talkative(noisy) like static on the radio or tv. She loves to lay with you but yet very playful and independent. She loves to sit on Ray's shoulder and sleep.
The Mutual Bond I Share With my Cat
She lays on my chest when I am on the computer. She sleeps in bed with me when Ray is gone. She is my baby I wouldn't trade for the world. I like her independence and clingyness at the same time.
Significant Benefits of our Relationship
she keeps me company when I am on the computer and is just so cuddly she makes you feel needed.
Why I'd Do It All Over Again
I wouldn't trade her for the world.
