Where did you get that hat!

About my Cat

My white cat is a 5 year old female and her name is Poppy. Poppy wears a sunbonnet when she goes into the sun.

Why I Chose This Photo

The picture that I chose, shows Poppy wearing her sunbonnet, she needs to wear a protective hat because her ears started to turn pink, and the vet suggested keeping her indoors, but that only distressed her, so she has a bonnet, also she has a very high factor suncream, 50 plus, that is used for young children, put on her nose. All this is because white cats can get cancer of the ears and nose from too much sun.

Tips and Tricks

  • The lesson I learned was from my vet, to be very wary with white cats and their ears and nose. I have seen a white cat with ear cancer and it is very distressing, not only for the cat but for the owner also. So prevention is better than cure.

Liz and I have exchanged several emails about Poppy, and her photo has appeared on my site in other places.
