When, Where and How I Got My Polydactyl Cat
I lost my beloved cat of nearly 17 years and was heartbroken in a way that I have never been. I never thought that I would want another cat but I became obsessed with Petfinder.com. And then I noticed that there were a brother and sister available. It caught my attention and it did not show the picture of the brother (who was to become Magoo) but it showed two pictures of the sister, a long-haired brown tabby. I made an appointment to meet them. My husband and I went to the shelter and I fell instantly in love with and adopted both Maine Coon mix kittens. Magoo is a blue/cream tabby and Polydactyl.
I'd Describe My Cat As…
A lover....not a fighter.......Magoo is by far the most affectionate cat I have ever met!! My husband says the same thing. He will jump into my husband's arms and wrap his paws around his neck and just kiss him. He does the same to me! When he was a kitten and did not have the patience to wait for us to call him up by patting our chest, he would just jump on you and start climbing up your body so that he could hug and kiss you. You really and honestly feel this cat's love for you!! And he will take turns between my husband and I for affection so as not to make it seem as if he a favorite! And he and his sister are best friends. We have other cats but those two often sleep together, cuddled up and they groom each other. He, along with his sister, were Heaven sent to my from my baby who had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I needed to heal and they needed love.
Advice
- Check on the claws to ensure that none are growing into the paw, keep his claws trimmed at all times.
